The summer holiday season is just around the corner and traditionally we spend this time enjoying the company of our family and friends. However, each year there are many people who will face the holidays and Christmas for the first time since experiencing the passing of their loved one.
In November of each year, Tuckers extend their Funeral and Bereavement Care Program to the wider Geelong community by hosting a special Christmas Memorial service.
‘A Time to Remember’ is aimed at helping those who have experienced grief and loss and to prepare for the Christmas period in particular.
Providing a warm and inviting environment where it is ‘safe’ to express grief, people are able to participate by writing a message and a small candle lighting ceremony.
This is one way people can spend some quiet time and focus on their memories. All aspects of the evening respect the individuality of the grief experience while providing the opportunity for inclusion.
Following the main part of the program, there will be time to connect with Tucker’s staff and celebrants while enjoying supper and a RSVP is required for catering purposes.
