Tributes

  1. Jon, we weren’t at RMC at the same time, but we did serve together twice. On each occasion you were clearly smarter and possessed of a unique wit and sense of humour that got us both through. I miss those very good days which included Kath bringing one year old Jessica to our home. We will miss you, but safe travels to a better place my friend. Yours was a full life, well lived.

  2. A wonderful man gone too soon but now out of pain, Jon was loved and respected by everyone who were fortunate enough to know him, My thoughts are with you Kathy, Jessica, Sophie, Lynette, Dean, Jenn and families

  5. My darling Jon, this is the penultimate party of your life and you will be for once the silent partner…but I suspect you will be listening, loving the stories, hearing the yarns of your life well lived and so full…I will miss you forever…yours always…Kath xo

  6. Will miss your wicked sense of humour my bro-in-law. Until we meet again. Love you Man!

    He is Gone. David Harkins.

You can shed tears that he’s gone
Or you can smile because he lived.

You can close your eyes and pray he’ll come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that he’s left you.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him
Or you can be full of the love you’ve shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember him and only that he’s gone,
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind
Be empty and turn your back

Or you can do what he’d want
Smile, open your eyes, go on and live life to the full.

  7. My Dearest Brother Jon – you fought so hard and for so long but you had to go. You will be sadly missed by all and although happy for you as you are no longer suffering, so sad for the rest of us who remain. One of the lights in my life.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
    May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
    and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Love you forever Big Brother xoxo
