  24. The sun shines a little less bright these days with the passing of Steve, a brother and a favourite uncle on Wednesday July 22nd.

Having known Steve since he was a young lad, watching him grow through his teenage years, his time at Geelong College, enjoying watching him at his beloved rowing and then later his involvement with the Army Reserves and the work he loved. It’s hard to think that we will not see those shining eyes and that smile, reflecting his happiness and light heartiness that we all remember about Steve.

To Leanne, his beloved daughter Caitlyn, and his stepchildren Maryanne and Ross, we pass on our deepest sorrow and condolences.

Steve was loved by us all, as the family of his big sister, Susan who passed in 1997, who loved him dearly and always appreciated the chance to have fun and good family times with Steve. The way he looked after his mother, Joan, in her later years, and the willingness to share himself with his family and friends, makes Steve a one of a kind.

Sadly missed, sorry that Covid and distance make it impossible to be at his farewell, rest in peace, little brother and dearest uncle.

    Dennis, Nicole and Shelly

  25. Dear Leanne

I am so very sorry about your loss. Steve had become a good friend to me in recent months and his passing is a terrible tragedy for all of us who knew him. You and your family have my deepest sympathy.

I know that he came from a good family and that you loved him very much, as he did you. He always spoke in the most glowing terms of how much his family meant to him.

Steve was an inspiration to me. I admired all those wonderful qualities that made him the special person that he was. He had intelligence, wit, charm and a caring heart that made him a great friend.

I will always be thankful that I had the opportunity to get to know him better and to call him a friend. I will cherish his memory for years to come.
