Tributes

  1. George, so sad to discover this news. Was looking you up after remember our fun and feisty times at WIRE back in the day. And was telling someone your Hungarian grandmother story when she grew poppies and the cops came. You were such a passionate and fun person, ialways remember your distinctive voice and laugh. Wish we’d caught up in this last years. Kaz

  2. Here I am, May 1, 2019. I’ve only just been made aware of Georgie Kimmel’s passing. I shared a house with Georgie and others back in our uni days at Geelong. Sad, and I’ve been reading the tributes. A union obit described her as “feisty and passionate.” That sounds exactly like the Georgie I lived with back in the mid 1980’s.
And I was then, and remain a Conservative. However in spite of our differences we had a mutual respect. Vale old warrior.
    Rest in Peace Georgie.

I have been privileged to have worked closely with you and am richer and wiser for the experience. You were a thoroughly beautiful person (as you affinity with animals amongst many other things) is testament.
The world has just lost a very special soul…..
