  1. I’m very sorry but I just found out about Gav and needed to send this farewell message. I was a school mate of Gavin’s, meeting him in grade 1 at Bell Post Hill. Even back then, Gavin had a refreshing personality which I have never forgotten. I had planned on visiting him next year on a trip to Australia but now will have to visit with him in the here after.
    My condolences to his family. He was so proud of you, especially this grandchildren.

Deepest sympathy and condolences to gavs family on the gut wrenching loss of gav.Gav I never had the pleasure of meeting you but our lives came together through ra Cing greyhounds which started a number of years back with me training the dogs with success me and gavnever had a bad word between us we spoke 2or3 times aweek not just about dogs but everything except Collingwood and the reason behind that was he knew I hated Collingwood gav was a man’s man going to miss our calls and messages rest in peace mate see you at the track in the sky.kev and janine

I met Gavin Penn 27 years ago thru my then girlfriend, now wife Carmen who was good mates with Gav, i was a trucking company owner and Gav was a union organiser with a reputation for being a hard arse – his first words were if Carmen likes you – you must be ok – we had lots of laughs that night and have been good friends ever since – i am going to miss you gav – you were a genuinely good guy.

  11. 34 years ago I met Gavin so many happy memories, mostly laughter and Gav hating my taste in music (Drive all Night by Bruce Springsteen) Gav thought it sounded like a dying cow 🐮 An angel that walked amongst us….love you Gav RIP 💕
