Tributes

  1. My thoughts are with all Uncle Ernie’s family, (sorry I have only just learnt of his passing).

    Michelle Taylor February 12 2022
  2. To Linda and family, Ernie has touched the hearts of many, and the stories we heard during the service helps portray his loyalty, his inquisitiveness and his touch of the scallywag. Rest in Peace, Ernie.

  3. Ernie will be very missed, from the rat-a-tat-tat as he knocked on the side of the house when the stairs became too much, to the advice he gave us on our little diy projects and the stories he would tell about what Hamlyn Heights was like many years ago. He always had a smile and a fierce sense of independence.

We are thinking of you Linda, Ernie was so lucky to have you. There is no greater gift that you can give to someone than allowing them to live their life on their terms. He would have been so grateful to live in the home he built until the last.

Take very good care of yourselves. We wish we could be there in person today.

  4. To Linda & Jenny. Easter at the Browns was always fun and exciting every time the Taylor’s came to stay. A few things I won’t forget are the digging for old bottles with Ernie, our first time out spotlighting and the Coober Pedy experience around the kitchen table one dark evening. RIP Ernie. 5. Uncle Ern was one of the “good ones”. Straight shooting, kind, a hard worker, a great tradesman always happy to help others. He loved his family, footy and fishing and spent a lifetime collecting gem stones, bottles, insulators and Vegemite jars and loved to tell a story about any of them. None of us can look at any of those things without thinking of Uncle Ern who’ll be sadly missed by many.

  6. Our life member and esteemed “gentleman” collector. Ernie will be greatly missed by our Geelong Bottle and Collectables Club members. He was always approachable and willing to share his extensive knowledge of local items Our sincere condolences to Ernie’s Family

  7. Ernie was a highly regarded and valued Life Member of the Geelong Gem and Mineral Club, and will be sorely missed by the club membership. Ernie was so highly regarded, that the club even had a “special” chair, that was kept reserved for him at club meetings. He served the club tirelessly for many years, and was loved by all, and he will be sorely missed. The club extends our sympathy and condolences to Ernies family.
