Tributes

  1. Just learnt of Betty’s passing. After 40 years, 40 Christmas cards, many nights socialising, this news has come as a very, sad shock.
    Vale Betty.

  2. Dearest Auntie Bet, you were a very special lady who always saw light and joy in life.
Another link in the Mitchell family chain is broken. I will miss being able to share our family history snippets and being able to pop into Aireys to see you.
Roy and Milly await with a pot of tea at the ready and scones in the oven.

  3. Dear Aunty Bette, visiting Arnold Street & Aireys was always an adventure. You have been my friend all my life, you washed my Baby clothes when I was born & loved hanging them high on your washing line after having 3 Boys! The forest in the kitchen was magical. Your Book Of Gnomes had us in fits of laughter! So loving , talented & creative you gave life your all. Be with Uncle Ken, Mum & Dad, I am sure the party will continue. Love xx

  4. We have been privileged to be Betty’s next-door neighbours at No 26 for forty years. We never left her home (often after whisky or shortbread) without feeling inspired, uplifted and happy. She loved our children, who would go in though a little side gate. We treasure her pottery, bears and fish. Inlet Crescent won’t ever be the same. All sympathies to the family, and thank you for being able to join the service from Queensland.
