Around 80 people joined us at our Grovedale Chapel across the two Time to Remember services Tuckers held on Monday December 1st, 2025. Both our afternoon and evening services were well attended, as people took the opportunity to honour loved ones they were going to be missing this Christmas.
The words spoken at these services encouraged those in attendance to take moments over the festive season to remember their loved one in a special way. To make time, perhaps, for looking at some photos, sharing some stories, raising a toast or placing a special ornament as a tribute to their loved one. Our families were also encouraged to be kind and gentle with themselves over the festive season and beyond. It is important to allow moments for self-care in what can be a very busy time, and whilst acknowledging that this Christmas will be different, perhaps even challenging, it is also important to give ourselves permission to experience some of the joy of the season.
An important part of both services was the opportunity for families to leave a handwritten message for their loved ones in a giftbox which still sits under our Christmas tree, and to light a candle in honour of their special person. Together, the burning candles created a beautiful sight and allowed the light of those we were thinking of to continue to shine as we listened to David Van Elst perform for us. As always, David’s contributions to our services helped them to become truly memorable events which we hope our families will be able to draw some comfort from over the festive season.
